Not really, cause you will always have to remove your wheel, clean up inside the caliper and reset the pistons... Top loading is a bit pointless.
It's funny how Rock Shox has 2 excellent Youtube videos showing step by step how to perform maintenance on the VIVID 5.1 and 4.1, to the very last detail.. It does require few special tools, but they do make it available for everybody to do it themselves.

Yup, there is a problem, your shock will bottom out pretty hard damaging the bushings and possibly the frame.
It's okay to get a longer stroke spring, like a 3.0 in your specific case, never never ever a shorter one!

I got a carbon saddle off eBay for $75. It has no padding at all and weights only 65 grams. That thing hurts so bad that i had to swap back with my old 190gr Funn lite.. But still pretty light..

Well, that sounds more like lack of maintenance (check every single bolt before you ride) than product fail. You fail buddy, cause if you look around, most people never had any problems with Race Face cranks, as long as you make shure everything is nice and snug before every ride.
